She was known for her jewellery design and industrial design, but she also worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, game designer, fashion and costume designer and silversmith. Scherr was one of the first female automobile designers, working on the design for Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln. She is known for her pioneering methods of designing with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
